WHAT IS LAVENDER FLORAL WATER?

Native to Southern Europe, the lavender flower is known for its cleansing, soothing and purifying properties.

Lavender floral water, also known as lavender hydrosol, is an aromatic water produced by steam distillation of lavender or Lavandula angustifolia flowers. Floral waters have almost the same properties as essential oils, but are more diluted. They are therefore better for the skin and scalp.

PROPERTIES OF LAVENDER FLORAL WATER

• relaxing and sedative: the presence of linalool and linalyl acetate in this hydrosol promotes relaxation. It thus combats stress and nervous agitation. In case of insomnia or great stress causing sleep problems, the scent of lavender water can help remarkably.
• anti-inflammatory: Lavender has the ability to relieve skin inflammations such as insect bites, or those caused by superficial burns such as sunburn.
• repellent: like all self-respecting lavender, the hydrosol has a repellent action that repels lice, ticks and fleas.
• healing: Lavender hydrosol promotes the healing of superficial wounds or following skin problems such as acne or eczema for example. It accelerates the regeneration of the skin
• antibacterial: Lavender floral water balances lipid production and eliminates excess sebum. It, therefore, cleanses the skin thoroughly and prevents the formation of pimples. In addition, it is able to remove dead cells that clog the pores and remove any toxins that have settled on the skin’s surface. It has an acidic pH that conforms perfectly with the skin, allowing it to act gently without irritating it.

USAGE

• Simply spray it on your pillow.
• As a spray, to prevent lice
• Mum uses it for gentle cleansing and to firm the skin and fight the first wrinkles, teenagers treat their acne… and for dads, lavender water has a soothing effect after shaving.
• as a spray on a clean and dry skin. It will also moisten the skin of the face before applying a day cream.
• Applied directly or mixed with shampoo, it acts quickly on the roots and softens the hair fibre.
• As an ingredient in your spray preparations on the skin of your face and neck after cleansing. Then apply your skin care cream or oil immediately to damp skin.
• Incorporated in the aqueous phase of your homemade cosmetic formulas, such as daily cream or body lotion
