Botanical name: Mentha spicata
Family: Lamiaceae
Mentha spicata is native to temperate western Asia and also southeast Europe. It grows in humid, sunny to semi-shaded environments. Herbaceous perennial plant very common in gardens, it can reach 60 cm in height. It is a very aromatic plant, but sometimes with a musty smell.
Yield: 1 kg of oil = about 50kgs of flowering top

Chemistry:

  • Ketones: carvone (55 to 75%)
  • Monoterpenes: Limonene (15 to 25%)

PRACTICE

External use only

  • Digestive troubles with a beginning of nausea (adult): add 1 drop EO in 4 drops VO, then massage on the abdomen
  • ENT troubles: add 1 drop EO in 4 drops VO, then rubbing into the thorax and sole feet
  • Spasmophilia, anxiety attack, respiratory oppression: add 1 drop in 4 drops VO, then rubbing into the back and solar plexus

CAUTION
