Know which thyme essential oil you need, because there are several of them:
- “linalool” EO (Thymus vulgaris ct linalool): anti-infective without specific precaution
- “thujanol” EO (Thymus vulgaris ct thujanol): anti-infective without specific precautions. It is very difficult to produce, so this EO is often replaced by marjoram EO because it also contains thujanol.
- “thymol“ EO (Thymus vulgaris ct thymol) major anti-infective but it can cause skin irritation and it is also hepatotoxic
- You also have Thymus “zugis” from Spain with different chemotypes
- The spanish marjoram (Thymus mastichina): respiratory property without specific precaution

Very strong pleasant aroma, I use 1 drop per 1 tablespoon of oil for oil pulling. That is when you swish the oil around in your mouth for 10 to 15 minutes to act as an antibacterial, strengthen the teeth and gums. Then you spit it out in sorbent paper and dispose in compost, otherwise you clog up the pipes. Then rinse your mouth with salted lukewarm water which you can spit into sink. I am finding my gums are improving as they would often bleed when I brushed my teeth and feel tender in some spots. A big improvement, happy with the results.

A new discovery. Fantastic aroma and seems a good medication for rashes… will see if it continues to work since I have only just been trying it for a few days.

Thyme oils are beautiful.
Thanks for friendlyprompt service, great web site and little extra gifts. I have just flown for 14 hours and used the tiny sample of cream for my 73 yo mature skin. Very impressive. Thanks. Sue grant
