Turmeric is a perennial herb that can grow up to 1 metre high. It has large green leaves and spikes. The flowers are sterile. The flower produced by this plant is called a rhizome, and it is from this fresh, crushed rhizome that the essential oil is extracted using steam.

- In diffusion, do not use pure. Therefore, dilute this essential oil with other essential oil (part turmeric 10% max)
- Use in small doses over limited periods.

- May have an anti-oestrogenic effect, particularly in the case of hormone treatment.
- Skin irritative, dermocaustic, so do not use pure: dilute at 10% in VO for use on the skin
- As a rule, test the product by applying a little in the crook of your elbow or on your wrist before using it.
