Processing method of ylang-ylang III essential oil: steam distillation.

Odour: Flowered, jasmined, very perfumed (MIDDLE NOTE)

Choose a quality II or III to ensure mainly an anti-parasitic dermatological action.
Family: Annonaceae
The tree native is to the Philippines and Indonesia with yellow, pink or purple flowers. In Indonesia, the sweet-scented flowers were traditionally arranged on the bed of the bridal room. But now, production is mainly in the Comoros and Madagascar.
The heady scent of the flowers is not revealed in the wild, but only when the tree is cultivated. The tree with ylang-ylang, which can be up to 20 metres tall in the wild, is cut, in cultivation, at human height.
Chemistry:
- Sesquiterpenes: germacrene-D (12 to 34%), alpha-farnesene (8 to 25%), beta-caryophyllene (8 to 19%)
- Esters: benzyl benzoate (4 to 11%), farnesyl acetate (1 to 9%)

Ylang-ylang III essential oil is more suitable for cosmetics and perfumery. Nevertheless, it has interesting antispasmodic effects due to its content of monoterpenic esters. It is also traditionally known to calm breathing and heart rate in case of stress.

PRACTICE
- Beauty:
Dull hair: add 1 drop of EO in your normal dose of shampoo
Greasy or dull skin: add 1 drop of your normal dose of day cream
Fragile or broken nails, massage the fingers for a few minutes each day with ylang-ylang EO
- Well-being:
Stress, high blood pressure, spasmophilia: diffuse or you can also smell directly to the EO bottle
Painful periods: add 3 drops of ylang-ylang EO in 10 ml VO and then massage the lower abdomen
Libido: add 1 drop EO in 4 drops EO then massage on the lower spine, twice a day for 10 days

- The strong scent may cause headache and / or nausea
- Skin irritative, so do not use pure on the skin, in other words, make a strong dilution in vegetable oil (1% EO in 99% VO).
- Do not diffuse pure, but mix with other oils (part ylang-ylang in the mixture 15% max).

Keep in the original bottle, away from air and light, at a temperature below 25C.
