Properties of these 3 stuffy nose essential oils
Eucalyptus globulus, decongestant of the nose. This essential oil has a powerful action expectorant and decongestant (thanks to 1,8-cineole). It will thin the mucus and allow its expulsion from the respiratory tract to clear them at best. Alpha pinene, a terpene in this essential oil also has expectorant activity. In addition, 1,8-cineole has an anti-inflammatory action targeted at the ENT sphere. It will also be of certain effectiveness in the elimination of viruses and bacteria sometimes responsible for this respiratory symptom that is the stuffy nose.
Niaouli, eliminates viruses. This essential oil brings to this synergy molecules with a balsamic effect (terpenes such as limonene). 1.8 cineole + alpha terpineol = a remarkable antiviral action that will help to overcome colds, bronchitis and other flus often at the origin of the “stuffy nose” effect. Niaouli is therefore essential to this synergy for complete virus elimination. In addition, the Niaouli, with some molecules similar to those found in the essential oil of Eucalyptus Globulus, strengthens its decongestant power. As a result, it will help to clear the nose effectively.
Peppermint, constricts blood vessels. The menthol of this essential oil will immediately clear the nose by providing a feeling of freshness. In addition, the peppermint essential oil brings a ketone to the mixture: menthone. This category of molecules is known for its thinning effects on mucus: it will be thickened and can thus flow more easily out of the nose.
